"Then why did you bring it up?"

"Because I wanted to tell you my opinion and philosophy, of course! I mean, it's in my name. 'Sophia' means wisdom, silly!"

"How quaint," he muttered, looking off to the side. "Your mother probably wouldn't like you being here, you know."

"Oh no. She knows nothing about this. She thinks that you live in a small one story house in the suburbs."

"If she found out?"

"Well, she probably would kick my ass. But, I'm sneaky." she tapped her head. "Anyway, what are you planning to do when school is over? Are you going to get a job right away, or are you going to a university?"

"Whatever happens, I suppose," he said with a shrug. "You?"

There was a rather sharp knock on the door.

Oh, these people and their showing up uninvited and unwanted. It was at least half a week later and Hugh, recognizing the knock, answered the door with only a scrap of hindrance.

And who besides Kyle strutted in, pushing past Hugh as he did so. "Hugh, we hardly talked at all this summer. What's new?" As he spoke, his eyes were concentrated on the floor; specifically on a forgotten CD-Art booklet. Appears like Sophia beat me here with this muggle trash...

"Absolutely nothing," said Hugh, following Kyle's line of sight to the image. "Nothing."

Kyle schooched the CD-art cover towards the wall using his foot, and then using the wall to get it to flip over to the front, where he was greeted by Ke$ha. "...Sophia I presume?"

"Yes," he answered, fatigue echoing in his voice. The small apartment was in absolute shambles with last minute gathering of textbooks, trinkets, and whatever clothes he managed to unearth. "Quite unpleasant."

Kyle chuckled. "I'd assume so... Do you need a hand?" He was starting to notice the clutter littering the floor. "Seems like you've got a hand full of things to pack."

"I'd rather you didn't..." Hugh shuffled his feet slightly, avoiding looking at this ne'er-do-well. "I don't care much for people going through my things."

Thank god. Touching this stuff might be as dangerous as touching his hair... "You wanna grab something to eat?"

"Don't see why not."

"Cool, I'm starving. What's there to eat around here?"

"There isn't," said Hugh. "I haven't been grocery shopping. Wouldn't want to leave anything for the flies."

Kyle flinched in disgust. "Oh... then why not go out? My treat."

"Would you?"

"Of course. My mother left some money on the table before I was awake for Chinese food, but she never remembers it does not do well for my stomach. So, where would you like to go?"

There was suddenly a knock on the door. And soon, the knocking gave to a very obnoxious turn, accompanied by some very loud and off key singing.

Kyle glared at the door. I thought I'd beat her here.
