Java Hut (Coffee Shop)

His sneer vanished, cheeks turning a darker tinge of red than his usual flush. After taking a moment to think of an excuse, he muttered, "I'd have bit you, that's what."

Amanda shrugged, glancing down at her drink and wondering why she gulped it down so fast. What else could she use when an awkward silence fell? "Whatever you say, Sparkles."

"Not like you'd have been..." No, that was harsh; should he? "Been worth the time."

Amanda's shoulders automatically stiffened. "Would you like to split the bill?" Taunting one another as friends was one thing, but to say something like that...

"I'll cover it," Wallace replied curtly, turning to fish his wallet from the pocket of his windbreaker.

"How gentlemanly." Amanda coldly replied. She threw her black locks behind her shoulders in a single swift movement as she went to grab her purse from the ground. "Thank-you for coming out. It was ncie to get to talk again."

"Mm." He stood as well, slipping his jacket back on. "How much was it?"

She slipped the receipt towards him on the tabletop as she slid into her own jacket. It was long, going down to her knees and buttoning to neck. The material was heavy and dark as the night itself, and the clasps were a shining gold color.

He took a short glance over the total, then took the sufficient amount from the folds of his leather wallet. "You look... nice, by the way." Nice? Really?

Amanda focused on his gray, seemingly colorless eyes. "Thank you." She said flatly.

Clearing his throat, he edged passed her and payed the due at the counter. Turning to give her another glance, see if she was following, he exited the cafe.

And of course, she was right behind him. The alley she has apparated into was outside, and she felt safer going back home the same way. Couldn't let a muggle see her vanish into thin air.

By coincidence, he'd apparated into the very same alley. So there they were, having already said their goodbyes, still moving in the same direction.

She sped up a little, trying to get ahead of him. How awkward would it be to stare at him while he apparated, especially after that little comment of his.

Soon enough, they arrived at the turn. Wallace had fallen a few feet behind, and he kept his gaze low, though not TOO low. Yes, too low. He turned to look to the street instead.

Amanda was well aware of his eyes, and gave her walk a little more strut to it. Not worth it my ass. She shook her head, what was she even doing?

They were far enough into the alley to avoid the wandering eyes of any stray muggles by that point. He'd stopped walking and now simply stood, watching to see what her next move would be. Would she leave first? Would she say something else? Should he apologize?

She shifted her weight from foot to foot. This was rather awkward. Amanda swore under her breath, but it was perfectly audible due to the echos of the alley. All she could do is pull out her cell phone, and quickly check if Trevor had texted her. Of course he hadn't, he had work. But it was something to look occupied with.

Why was he feeling so nervous all of a sudden? His heart rate was up to sixty beats per minute, of all things. Thirty higher than it should have been. Apologize, you bastard. "I-I'm sorry for, uh... for what I said back there." Decent. "It was completely uncalled for, and..."

Amanda turned quite slowly. "Look, I totally get it. It's... it's fine." She managed a sheepish smile, which was obviously fake. Trevor's name was pounding in her head with every beat of her heart, as if on a repeat button. Yet... someone else's name was slipping in there as well.

"Really, it was just..." He took a step toward her, then another. "I don't know where it came from, honestly." Another. They were within a foot of eachother. "I just, uhm..."

Amanda pushed a piece of her hair away from her eyes. "You just?..." She inched a bit closed to him as she spoke.

Their eyes met, and their lips soon followed.

Her heart was racing as every single part of brain told her to pull away, she was married with children. So was he! Oh my god- Julia! What am I d- Her eyes widened to an unnatural size, until they peacefully closed, enjoy every millisecond the kiss lasted. She slowly rose her arms, entangling them around his neck. This kiss... it was different from any she had experienced before.

What the hell was he doing? What in the name of every star in the sky was happening? Where was that shrew of a ginger he called wife? Where was that collegiate douchebag of Amanda's? Why was it lasting so long? What class was this: snogging away in a dank side street! "We should go," he whispered on a break.
