No, it's nothing that's going to induce flame wars.

But, have you heard that they're changing the word 'nigger' in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to 'slave' or something like that? I don't know about you guys, but I think it's total BS.

Heard about it a couple months back. It is a bunch of BS--I mean, seriously? Are we really going to censor a classic?

I agree! I mean, nigger wasn't considered a swear at the time, it was SLANG, and I think that children should get an understanding of words like that... I mean, you don't want them to be COMPLETELY sheltered. You want to expose them a bit.

I'm going to go through Gone With the Wind and censor out all mentions of the Ku Klux Klan, every mention of the word nigger, every mention that slaves are dumb, every scene in which blacks are inferior to whites..
Oh wait, that takes out about 1/7 of the book.
Next they'll be going through history books and editing out the Civil War, the Halocaust, anything that could plant bad ideas in the minds of our little angels.

not to mention how many youths refer to one another as niggers and such.

I know, really... like, you ALWAYS hear Black people referring to each other and stuff as that. Gosh, NOTHING annoys me more than the censorship and changing of books.

A ton of songs include it and no one even cares! Also, they need to understand that at the time it was released, SPITTING was considered worse ( even though it IS disgusting, it's not like, pure evil). If they censor that book at the time, they'd have to take everything out. And otherwise it wouldn't even be a realistic representation of the book's time period itself.

This is something I'd google, but I don't quite know what to google for. You know all those commercials for free diabetes testers, ABSOLUTELY FREE tax helpers and free medicine, and those places that are supposed to work out your medical aid. And, moneymutual (An easy way to get short term cash fast, apparently.) Or, Novasure. A procedure to fix your heavy periods.
It's so confusing. Are they scams? Because that's what they seem like.
