Main Street

Anthony didn't seem TOO frightened. Not right away, at least. He was actually more curious than anything. He had never seen this street before, and he wasn't even sure it was in Diagon Alley.

"Do you want to keep going?" he asked Brian.

[[Popped that cherry yes. |D]]

"Yeah! Definitely!" Brian said, looking a bit shaky. "C'mon!"

(Ohohoh yes.)

And so, they set off together, wandering through the streets, peering in through the shop windows. It was so hard to see what it was front of them, since the street was rather polluted with strange smokes and steams from potions. There was also a store of musty smell in the air, and beside certain shops, there were scents of death, and rotting things.

Anthony grew more frightened with each stepped. He tugged on Brian's cloak sleeve, and nudged towards a direction of a woman about six feet behind them.

"D-did you see that woman?! She was selling whole fingernails! The pink part and everything!" he exclaimed frightfully.

Brian's eyes widened horribly as he looked slightly sickened. "Y-yes, I saw that...! AH!" An old man with long spider-like fingers put his hands on both boy's shoulders. "Hello... would you like some freshly brewed cow blood-based tea? I've got some set in the coffee shop..." He sounded strongly like Salad Fingers from Youtube.

"Uh... n-no, we're fine, sir!" Anthony said quickly, shaking his head. "Thank you for your offer, though.." He tried his best to sound polite as possible, but the fear still quaked in his voice.

"I insist you do!" the man urged.

Brian looked horribly frightened. "N-no! Anthony, run!"

"Come on!" Anthony shouted at him, and he began to dash around the nearest ally way, trying to ignore the scary sites and smells, like an old woman selling a cow's lungs, or a middle aged peddling off a skull.

He sat down, and peered out, waiting for Brian to arrive.

Brian dashed after him in fear, finally tumbling and such until he was next to Anthony. "This is really scary, how are we going to get out of here?!"

"I-I have no idea." Anthony said. He pulled his knees closer, and he rested his head against the alley wall. There was the sound of a dog barking loudly, and the yell of a woman telling it to shut up not very far from the two of them.

"We can always go back the way we came." he suggested.

"I-I don't remember the way,"

"I don't either..." He buried his face in his knees for a minute, just wanting to escape more than anything. Oh, why couldn't they just be born with the abilities to Apparate or something? But, he looked back up at him.

"Maybe we should just ask for directions."

"Okay!" Brian nodded sharply. "... You do it!"

"...What?! You were the one who got us into this mess and-" But he paused. Brian was giving him the 'Pleading Look'-you know, the one with the bright blue eyes, framed by those darn eyelashes. Ugh, he always had a way of guilt tripping you.

"Fine, I'll do it." And boldly went up to the nearest person he saw, and he tugged on their cloak, to get their attention.

"Excuse me... do you know how to get to Diagon Alley from here?"

The tall man turned around, grabbing Anthony with a raging yell and holding him hostage in his arms.

Brian jumped up, screaming, with his hands to his mouth. "Anthony!" he yelled, and trembling with fear, stayed rooted in horror with no idea what to do.

"HEEELP!" Anthony yelled, whirling around, trying to get someone's attention. But in a society so apathetic, they didn't even seem to notice a strange old man snatchup a younger boy, or they just didn't even care. And, with Brian being absolutely useless, Anthony did the first thing they came to mind:

He sunk his teeth into the man's arm, in hopes that he'll let go of him.

Then, a young, horrendously familiar voice rang out in a pained yell. "OWWWWWW!" screamed Derek Brown, dropping Anthony to the floor and clutching his arm. "You crazy cannibal!" he yelled, looking at the throbbing bite marks.

Brian dropped his hands from his mouth, and ran over to Anthony. "You're so stupid, Derek!" he yelled, and dropped down to help Anthony. "Are you okay, Anthony?" he demanded, sticking out his hand to help his best friend up.

"Just about." Anthony grumbled, as he brushed himself off. If looks could kill, Derek probably would have fallen over right there. Even Anthony could occasionally pull off a scary look, if he put his mind towards it.

"You deserve that, even if you weren't really going to do anything! You shouldn't have tricked us like that!" he shouted at him.

Brian stepped back nervously.

Derek looked down at Anthony and chuckled. "Don't worry, lil' buddy! Consider it a pre-first year prank!" Derek patted him on the head. "C'mon, let's head back. This place is giving me the jeepers. Doncha think?" and he began strutting off in front of them.

Brian trailed behind Derek with Anthony. "He's such a jerk sometimes,"

Anthony didn't say anything else to him, and he stepped next to Brian, as they followed Derek out. He did his best to ignore the sites and smells, and keep his focus on Brian.

"Yeah, he is... he's worse than Will." Anthony murmured quietly to him.

"He can be very nice, but he's changed after this summer. Like, he's all cocky and stuff, like he's too cool for school."

"Really?" Anthony stared at his back warily, as they entered into the bright sunlight that was Diagon Alley. "What do you think happened?-Wow, look at the kid, Brian!" he exclaimed.
