| After Anthony had followed Dara into the relatively empty History Of Magic classroom, he stopped right in his tracks. And no, it wasn't by a girl.
It was a desk, in the most prime location imaginable. It was in the middle of a row of desks, off to the side. There was a large window with view of the Quidditch field, so the sun was shining upon the desk, as it had some sort of heavenly glow. The desk itself had a wooden shine as if it had been freshly polished by the work of a House Elf. On hot days, it would warm your back, and on rainy days, you have a clear view of the relaxing rainfall.
He had to have it. So, he actually ran over, and he sat straight down, before anyone else could claim it.
Anthony sighed. It was quite the perfect desk.

| Since Audrey wasn't in this class with her, Dianna sat down next to Anthony, not quite knowing the significance of the desk. She was too wrapped up in her fear of the ghost teacher.
"Umm.. Anthony, I'm kind of scared."

| Dara sat behind Anthony. Unfortunately, Richard couldn't be in this class, since he was a Ravenclaw. Dara was very silent as she pulled out the things she needed for class. | |

| "He's just a ghost, Dianna. He won't hurt you." he said quietly, before turning around to look at Dara. "You're not scared, are you?" he asked. | |

| Dara shook her head, shoulder-length curls bouncing about. "No." | |

| "Oh, good..." Anthony trailed off, studying Dara a little bit. She was even shyer than he was around new people. Briefly, he wondered if people had this hard of a time talking to him.
"Um, have you had Transfiguration yet?"

| "No. I think I have it next." Dara was silent for a moment before she asked, "And you?" | |

| "What, do we have potions, Anthony? I don't know. When's lunch?" Dianna whined. "I'm really starting to get hungry.." | |

| "Hey, I don't know everything, Dianna. Besides, I was talking about Trans-" but he stopped talking, as Professor Binns floated through the chalkboard, and Anthony begin to hastily pull out his supplies for this class. | |

| Dianna, who had already gotten out her supplies, just stared at him.
How unnatural. Someone who was dead wasn't supposed to come back, ever. They were dead. It was peaceful, and lovely, and they were happy. But the poor souls who weren't peaceful came back as ghosts. That was the explanation her mother gave for it, and that was what scared Dianna so much. What if somehow when she died, she wouldn't be peaceful either and she would come back as a ghost? They couldn't even touch anything. It was a fate much worse than death. They could go anywhere, be anywhere, watch you at any time. They were the ultimate evil. That professor must be ancient. Her mother said that he had been teaching when she was in school.
So there she was, staring at Professor Binns, her little mind racing, and her legs completely numb with fear.

| [[Of course, it was where they signed a contract and such. Or well, that's what it said in the fifth book.]]
Brian was already waiting, at the front of the class. He eyed his cousin who was talking with Anthony, and joined them. "Hey, Dara," he said, then turned to Anthony. "How are you? First class together!"

| Anthony didn't answer his question straight away, but looked back and forth at him and Dara dubiously.
"You didn't tell me you had a cousin, Brian!" he exclaimed. He never assumed anything, after all, Brown was a rather common last name.

| "Oh--hi, Brian!" Dara smiled at him. "Erm, yeah, Anthony. We're related. That's your name, isn't it?" | |

| "Most people do have cousins, Anthony.." Dianna mumbled. "Hi Brian." She still wasn't taking her eyes of that shady Professor Binns. | |

| "Well, I don't really have any cousins. Except for some people on my dad's side. But I don't really know them, and-"
"Quiet children, quiet... Mr. Green," Binns looked straight at Brian. "Please take a seat. Ms. Green, please quiet down, and turn to face me."
"We have much to cover today, so everyone take out a piece of parchment and quill..." And he began to scribble things on the blackboard.
Anthony did as he was told, but in the back of his mind, he began to pray that this class picked up a little bit.

Oh, whatever. Dianna just tried her best to take notes.

| Professor Binns began to have a discussion about the 'foundations of the magical world' and how researchers in the Department of Ministry have come up with 'several theories to unraveling the great mysteries of where this magical force came from.'
It wasn't a discussion in the traditional sense, where everyone contributed their own idea. Really, it was more like the Professor simply talking at the children, with no stopping him. The material might have been very interesting, if it was taught in a different way. This however, was super boring.
It was so boring, that after the first ten minutes of the lecture, Anthony set his quill down, folded his arms up, and rested his head. He was very tired anyway, as he didn't get much sleep last night. Ah well, he could always get the notes from someone else.

| Brian, already having ADHD as it was, was gazing around dreamily and was rubbing the top of his quill against his cheek. It's like all sounds were blocked out of his head, and the only interesting thing in the room was the ceiling. | |
