4th Year Care of Magical Creatures

Eileen was standing in the crowd of students, bored stiff. The teacher was talking about Nifflers or something, and she really wasn't paying much attention. But then, they were partnering up for a treasure hunt, and Eileen was left alone, since she hadn't been near her friends.

Coy was talking with his own friends. Class then began. Hagrid eyed every student with a big grin, and pulled out his list. "Now, the day before, I assigned you each a partner. We're going to walk the Nifflers on a walk. You know what to do, but this time we're going farther in. MUCH farther in. So be ready to stay in a closed group- the reason I'm placing you in partners is not because there aren't enough Nifflers, but also because two minds are better than one for the main case."

And so, he paired everyone off, to come off with an odd number- three last people. Coy, Eileen, and one of Eileen's friends. And so, the three were paired up.
"Onwards!"

Eileen stared at Coy. "Okay, you're in charge of the directions, Coy. I'll be in charge of the Niffler!" She exclaimed, looking a bit pouty. She thought the assignment was stupid. "You.. You can just do nothing."

"Come on, Mickey," Will said, as he placed his little black Niffler on the ground. "Maybe you can find some spare gold for me and Derek to split." And he began to follow the little Niffler, as it began to sniff around the forest, and moving in, with Derek behind him.

Mildred Vainglory trailed behind the students, chattering away with one of her 'friends'. She really didn't know why she'd joined this class; it smelled awful and aroused her appetite a little too well for comfort.

Derek didn't like the fact that Will being much shorter than him, and a slow walker, was walking right in front of him so he purposely began to step on the soles of Will's nice shoes. "Walk faster," he demanded, chewing gum lazily.

Coy shrugged. "Sure, whatever floats your boat," he said, and eyed forwards. He was pretty much doing nothing, considering it just involved following the teacher into the forest. And so, they went onto this trail for about 15 minutes, before Hagrid took a sharp turn and left the trail.

"W-Where'd he go?!" Eileen exclaimed, staring off the trail. "Do we follow him? Do we stay on the trail?" She asked.

"We obviously follow him, relax.." Coy said calmly, eying right ahead to follow the group. Some hesitated, but others jumped right through the long leaves and attempted to avoid the tall prickle bushes.

Eileen stopped right at the prickle bushes. "I'm not going through those." She declared. "They're huge."

"Hey, stop that!" Will snapped at him. "I'm just going at Mickey's pace! And don't mess up these shoes. I'm not going to get another pair in a while."

Derek shook his head. "Yo, Mickey!" he called, and took off his silver watch. He stepped around Will, and waved it in Mickey's face. "This way!" he cried, and began to jump over logs and such, the small Niffler going wild to try to catch the watch.

"Oh hey, don't tease it!" Will yelled at Derek, having to jog to catch up with Derek, which was rather difficult, with those annoying slacks and dress shoes they had to wear for their uniform.

He caught up though, and he was still walking quickly beside Derek, like how he wanted originally.

"Okay, now you have to give it to him, since he was such a good Niffler." Will teased him.

"What?! No way hosay! I'm keeping this watch. He can have this, though." Derek pulled a silver piece off his pen and tossed it at the niffler. The niffler rolled around it doing happy noises and stuff.
"You know, this little guy actually warms my heart up," Derek said with a contented sigh. "I feel as though I've done a good deed for this world."

"We're lost." Eileen whispered, looking around in fear. It was really, really dark in the forest. And indeed, her group had gotten completely lost.
