Potions Class

Immanuel sat in the back corner of the room, sitting up straight in fear of falling off the cold stools. He always hated this class, not for the teacher or material, no! He actually enjoyed that bit. But the fact that he always knocked over potions since his knees came a bit above the desks, so whenever he lifted his knees a disaster occurred.

Class hadn't started yet, but Professor Amos was still hovering in the front, glaring at the board in front of her. Immanuel always believed anyone she glared at like that, or anything, should have melted in fear. Her sharp features and all-knowing eyes were quite intense.

And soon enough entered his buddy and pal, Alexander. "S'up," he said in an obligatory fashion, taking the seat beside Immanuel.

Immanuel gave a silent nod of acknowledgement, currently preoccupied with watching where a certain spider on the wall. Two minutes later, it was far enough away that he was at ease, so he turned to Alex for conversation before class officially started. "Did you do the homework for once?"
